AS of Oct 7 Chikyu (the deep sea drilling vessel) is currently off the coast of Sasebo for maintenance. Not very exciting!
FYI: It’s maximum cruising speed is 12 knots (that’s about 12 miles per hour or the speed of a bicycle). It’s range is approx. 16,500 miles – that’s more than half way around the world.
